Is the Anthropic IPO the only thing that matters for the rest of 2026? - Yahoo Finance

Host and "The Buy Side" author Turney Duff and his panel of experts weigh in on which events in the last two months of 2026 are the most pivotal for the markets: Nvidia's (NVDA) Nov. 17 earnings, the Federal Reserve's December decision, or whether Anthropic goes public.Today's panel includes Hennion & Walsh CIO Kevin Mahn, Neostellar Principal Willy Lee, Grenadilla Advisory Founder and CEO Anna Rathbun, and Futurum Chief Market Strategist Shay Boloor.

Three critical moments for the balance of this year. One, Nvidia earnings support on November the 17th. Two, what the Fed decides to do or not do at the beginning of December, and three, whether or not Anthropic still goes public this year or delays going into next year. I think if they delay, that could be perceived by some investors as bearish. I think that if they don't delay and their IPO fails or comes in below expectations, that could be perceived as bearish to certain investors.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. But if in fact Anthropic, let's just let me allow me to paint this for a second. These are a lot of ifs. But let's say they do go public and there is demand and they meet their price and it exceeds and stays at that price. If the Fed does meet in December and they stay on pause at least for the balance of this year. And if Nvidia beats on the top line, beats on the bottom line, guidance higher, promises the moon as it relates to AI growth going forward, and the stock doesn't sell off, boy would that be a strong three tail winds to guide us forward through the balance of this year and provide a great balance and close out to the year. Will those three things happen? I don't know, but certainly three things for all of our, uh, listeners to pay attention to.

Yeah, I actually I I don't know if I agree…
